  • “Phalangeal fractures and DIP, PIP & MCP fracture-dislocations (Part I)”. This lecture will try to share Clinical Guidelines for easily copy/pasting in your ER summary an updated and simple protocol for handling your patients. It would also discuss different  surgical procedures based on EBM and on the support from various Hand Surgery associations (20 min).

7. TECHNIQUES (Workshops)

  • Wound care and bandaging techniques in Hand Surgery
  • Immobilizations:
    Splints, casts and orthosis. Techniques and basic indications.
  • Anesthesia:
    Techniques for safely and effectively applying local anesthesia in the upper limb
  • Closed reductions:
    Combined technical use of fluoroscopy, traction techniques and devices and specific maneuvers for conservative treatments.
  • Suturing techniques for skin, tendons, ligaments and basic nerve repair.
  • Use of ultrasounds for the closed reduction of fracures
  • Cadaver and microsurgical courses: these could eventually end up being part of our program.

  • Our efforts would be focused on making questions and answers that could help us all being better professionals.
